Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 September 2026

Quest Chronicle has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. There is no server run by the developer, and your library is never sent to him.

Where your library lives

Connections you can turn on

The app works with none of these. Each is optional, off until you set it up, and uses a key or sign-in of your own that is stored in your device's Keychain. When one is on, the app sends only what that service needs to answer: usually a game title, or your own account identifier on that service.

ServiceWhat is sentWhat comes back
SteamGridDB
steamgriddb.com
Game titles, with your own API keyCover artwork
IGDB, through Twitch
api.igdb.com, id.twitch.tv
Game titles, with your own Client ID and Secret How long games take, scores, cover artwork
HowLongToBeat
howlongtobeat.com
Game titles. Off unless you switch it on, and unofficial: it reads a page meant for browsers and can stop working without notice How long games take, cover artwork
Steam
api.steampowered.com
Your Steam ID and your own Steam Web API key What you are playing and how long you have played it
Xbox, through OpenXBL
xbl.io
Your own OpenXBL key What you are playing and when you last played each game

OpenXBL is an independent service, not Microsoft. Using it means trusting that service with your Xbox account, which is why the app says so where you set it up, and why nothing happens until you choose to.

Siri and Shortcuts

If you allow it, you can log a session or add a game by voice. Siri handles the speech, which means the words you say go to Apple and are processed under Apple's privacy policy, not mine — the same as any other app you talk to. Quest Chronicle receives only the finished request, and your library is never sent anywhere as part of it. Declining costs you nothing else in the app, and you can change your mind in iOS Settings at any time.

What the app does not do

Children

Quest Chronicle is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.

Deleting your data

Settings has controls to delete your games, your sessions, or everything. Removing the app removes its local data; data in your iCloud is removed through Apple's own iCloud settings. Disconnecting a service in Settings deletes its key from your Keychain.
